Years ago, my grandfather made a hut for my little tortoise. To make it, he used a children's book that belonged to my father, and he sewed the cardboard pages in the same way and with the same tools that he used to sew the felt boots, the valenki.
I wanted to relive his gestures, but unlike the first hut, the story of the little boy General and the machine-gun Bear sits alongside the wounded flesh, and the text is replaced by a death poem.
The physical and psychological pain of war, the losses and wounds have found a material form, a refuge. They also burnt the paper, transforming it into a poem. As objects of exorcism, will they open the way to deliverance?
