The Tale of Three Golden Seeds is the story of a young girl who has knowledge and a desire to change the world but doesn't know how to go about it and ends up ruining everything.
First, she causes the town's river to dry up. Then, all the greenery disappears to make way for buildings and concrete. And then a beautiful hundred-year-old tree has to be cut down. The girl buries herself alive at the end.
The illustrations for the Japanese portable theater— kamishibaï — are by artist Svetlana Maksimenko. And be warned, real golden seeds are sown during the presentation!
